THE NAME

                                           “ THE NAME”

According to the Bible, the word “name” first appeared in the book of Genesis chapter 2.
God brought His creatures such as birds, animals - - to Adam, the man whom created by God in the  image of Him; to let Adam name them. Adam also named Eve, a woman that the LORD God made from the rib of Adam. Man and all creatures of God had names since at the time of God’s creation.
The names of human are influenced by culture, by traditional way, and by modern world. Every name has its own story and beauty. Some names describe beauty of nature and some depict the life of their parents or grand-parents, or the time they are born or the place where they born.  Some make the name themselves outstanding in society.Man written their own histories good or bad, and then names remained in their lives.
In the world, there are two eternal powerful names; “the name of the LORD God Almighty” and “the name of Jesus.”
In 2011, there was a strong earthquake in Japan. One of my children was there. I asked God to give me scripture. That is John 17:11-12. It is “in the name of Jesus.” I was praying for the safety of my child, her friends and other people who live in Japan.  There was not only earthquake but also happened tsunami, nuclear reactor problems and the germs on vegetables after nuclear reactor problems.  My child and people whom I prayed for them were saved by the power of the LORD God Almighty and in the name of Jesus.  He brought them from the darkness into the love of the light, Jesus, during the disaster. Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.( 1 Cor 15:57)

In 2015, there was flood and landslides in many parts of Myanmar.  Although we cannot prevent natural disaster every time, we may have mercy and we will get protection from God when we pray earnestly.
In the Bible, Noah and his family were saved from the flood overwhelming on earth.  When God said to Noah to make himself an ark, he did. Noah believed that there would be flood but people did not believe God’s word to Noah, and they did not repent. There was no rain on earth before the flood of Noah time.( Gen 2:5) This may be the reason they did not believe the flood.
Therefore some people said that Noah’s faith was blind faith because he did not know about rain. I would like to say his faith was absolute faith not a blind faith. According to The World Bible Dictionary by Don Flaming, faith means " a special sense of trust in God  to do something unusual or supernatural." Noah did unusual thing by building an ark though there was no rain on earth. Moreover, he had trust in God and obeyed the commands of God. When he built the ark he followed God's instructions in details, for example, measurements of the ark. His faith saved him and his family. When  the flood water increased, Noah was saved in his ark which he built by faith.  And the ark was over the flood. The more increased the water the higher the ark reached. Likewise, the more increase problems the more you escape from it by faith. You are always over the problems. Because of your faith, God will save you.
We live in the world of natural disasters. We live in the world of man- made disasters such as war, political struggle, economic and social struggles.
Remember these two names  in war, in political struggle and in any situation. Pray in truth. God will help you. Praise be "the name of the LORD God Almighty" and "the name of Jesus" now and forever.

Beyond the statue

  “Beyond the statue”

On the 13 of September, U.N leaders, Permanent Representatives to the UN and Representatives of all religions prayed for the success of the 71st Session of the UN General Assembly, and for the people who are in needs of home, peace and developments in various parts of the world.
When we (my husband and I) went into the church, there was a huge statue of Jesus in a position of blessing. It made me wonder. Whilst we were waiting to start worship service, I asked myself, “Am I right or wrong to pray in front of the statue of Jesus?”
But I don’t want to go back as I knew that this service is to pray for Peace in the world where we live. I really wanted to participate in it for the world though I am a housewife. From our church last Sunday, I had got a message “Jesus meets you where you are and Jesus calls you in your situation.”  Sometimes, Jesus calls me to pray for those who in needs. Jesus cares everyone and, in his sight all are precious. Jesus never forgets women who are in the kitchen. Later on, my question and my feelings are stopped as the prayer service was started.
This is the first time I have ever attended in RC church.  When service started, I called Jesus from my heart. Moreover, I had a feeling on others who are in different beliefs how they would feel and pray.  Then I realized that they were not different from me because we all had to concentrate on the bulletin. Prayers on the bulletin are our common aim to come at the front of Jesus statue.
Then, I realized that beyond the statute we had common aim to obtain peace  in the world.
Beyond the statute we love and share with those who are in need.
Beyond the statute we had one spirit of peace, justice, equality and prosperity of the world where we live!

"Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith." (Hebrews12:2)

“Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.” (Hebrews12:2)
[From the darkness to the love of the light, Jesus]

The LORD God will act as our judge when we call Him during facing problems. In the previous letter that I wrote “For the LORD is our judge”, He gave us some firm witnesses on the wall.   When GOD GAVE US A CHANCE TO PAY BACK FOR WHO DID WRONG TO US, we started preparing to sue the driver as fugitive. We would win soon.  In human point of view, we were standing for justice. We concerned for the boy’s soul from imprisonment and to pay back driver for his wrong doing. Our same feelings were happy for the boy soul which was not imprisoned, and then the same moto was come out from our hearts that was “the truth shall come true.”
But our judge is God who sent his only son (Jesus) to save our soul from hell.
God sent us His verdict. That is a scripture, John 19:30. When Jesus was crucified on the cross, he said; “It is finished” and he bowed his head, and gave up his spirit. (John 19:30)
In our case, it was not finished. We only had started preparing to face trial at the court. We cried bitterly in front of God. Why did we give up this fugitive?  This driver was not repent. God knows him well.
From our sight we had to give up the driver, due to God’s verdict. From God’s sight we should forgive him.  The word “Forgive” does not means “give up”. The word “give up” does not mean “lose”.
God revealed us through John 19:30. When Jesus was crucified on the cross, he forgave those who crucified him, and he said: “It is finished.” It is finished means Jesus announced that he had done his work on earth for his father’s (God) will to save our soul from the hell.
God spoke us to follow His son Jesus' steps.
God wants us to forgive the driver because he did not repent at that time.  Court punishment makes man regrets (means to know only what is wrong or right what they did). It does not always make repentance (means   to change attitude and behavior after knowing what is wrong and what is right). We realized that God loves the sinners. God himself will correct him. God corrects not only the sinner but also his children. We sent the driver all messages such as how great is our Judge the LORD God,and gave us firm witnesses and how he loves all man.
In human point of view, we tried to save the boy’s soul from imprisonment. From God’s point of view, the boy’s soul was already saved when he accepted Jesus as his savior. The boy was a very faithful youth in our church.
In human point of view, we are standing for justice. However, in God’s sight we would bind the driver’s life in prison though he did not get repentance. If we did sue, we may also be bound someday in our lives. God wants us free from wrong doing.

On the earth, “The truth ( justice) shall come true.”
In the kingdom of God, “The truth (the word of God, Jesus) shall make us free.”
Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith,

For the LORD is our Judge

“For the LORD is our Judge.” ( Isaiah 33:22)
[From the darkness to the love of the light, Jesus ]

Everyone loves to do good deeds.  Sometimes a truth cannot be proved for those who have done right in society.
Years ago, a young son of my friend was killed by an car accident.
This story was -- ---- He was on his motor cycle and a mini bus car hit him.  A family of that boy is not rich and has no power, so the boy became guilty in that case. His soul will be imprisoned by the Court. His mother cried for her lost son and his soul. She asked me to help to discover the truth. I am not a lawyer but Holy Spirit touched me to stand by her.
There were two, three firmed witnesses when we inquired. The witness on the bus said that the car driver and the boy were fighting for their way on the road and shouting at each other. Then the car hit him. Many passengers saw them and one of them was his neighbor. He told the boy’s mother about the accident in details. Another witness who was on other bus also saw the accident scene   before police arriving there. His testimony would be good evidence for the accident in the court. I myself heard it from that witness. Then the next one was a man, the lone ranger, he was on his way to office by his motor cycle. He saw the passengers came out from the bus and the driver drove away the empty bus in a haste. No sooner he realized that the bus driver was running away. At the place of accident, the neighbor and some witnesses asked for other car to help sending the dead body to hospital.  But, these witnesses later kept away from us when the time of the case was nearly brought to the court. Some did not want to go to the court. Some have other reasons.  Money and power can make witnesses disappear.   The driver took refuge under power and authority.
We took refuge under the scripture Isaiah 33:22(a); “For the Lord is our judge”, and prayed with “in the name of Jesus” to God to help us and give us the witness again. God is firm. God revealed His new witness on the wall. In the police department, there was a notice board with many facts about fugitives.   It is written that the driver who does not send an accident victim to hospital can be sued as fugitive. Wonderful God!  Our witness is on the wall of the police department. There was one fact to prove the driver was fugitive. It was hospital record in which the name of a person who sent the dead body and the car number was different from the driver who hit the boy and his mini bus!  Now we must win without human witness at the court, soon.  This case became upside down.  GOD GAVE US A CHANCE PAY BACK FOR WHO DID WRONG TO US. Is it His will?  I will answer this in next letter.
Sometimes we are looking for the truth from human point of view such as human witness and evidence. It cannot be reliable always. The truth that comes from God is valid.
FOR THE LORD IS OUR JUDGE!
Are you in the darkness situation where there is no hope and no answer for you?
God said; “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” ( Jer 33:3)
When you call someone on phone, you need the right phone number of that person. Therefore, you will need a right number when you call God. The number is “in the name of Jesus”. No worry about line busy, run out of battery and even you forget cell phone.  Line is always clear.
Call Him. God answers you. Tell Him. He will give you the light ( Jesus) for the way to see. There is the love of the light (Jesus Christ) while we are in darkness.      Not only for the way on earth but also for the way beyond the life after dead.

Back to basic and recall some old memories

There are two parts in this title which has been obviously seen. The first part “Back to basics” is the series sermon title of a pastor of the church where we are attending now in New York.  First part of “Back to basics” sermon was based on Psalm 23 and the focus point is “The Lord is my shepherd”.  “ It is the first verse of Psalm23  as well as the basics of this scripture and our lives”; the Pastor preached.   Week after week God speaks to us through Holy Spirit.
After these series, God reminded me to recall the beginning of my family life. Married life and family life are different. Married life depicts a couple and family life depicts a couple with children.

Recall old memories     --   My family life of first assignment in Geneva
My husband was posted in Geneva as third secretary in Myanmar mission.  We moved there with two kids.   At that time, Swiss Franc was strong and we got our salary with US $.  Therefore we had to struggle in Geneva, not only my family but also all the families of Myanmar Mission. It was middle of 1980s.
Switzerland was the most beautiful country as well as one of the most expensive countries  at that time.  Myanmar became Least Developed Country during that time.  Swiss currency was very strong.
In these situations, first assignment of newly diplomat family life had to struggle. Before long,  we had to send our children to school.   We faced financial problem.  At that time I was a Buddhist.
God loves all
One day I read a story about two fishes and five loaves of bread in the Bible. Jesus fed five thousand people with two fishes and five loaves of bread.  How great is the love of Jesus for people.   I started to pray for my children’s education because I believed that He who fed five thousand people with only two fishes and five loaves of bread could help me.  I did not know how to pray to Christ but I prayed.  “Jesus help me. I would like to send my children to school.   If I could not send them to school, I would have to go back to my country where my children could start school. But I wanted to stay in Geneva for my children to feed them some milk of Switzerland.”  (Every child under 5 years needs protein to develop brain. Basic education is important for every child to obtain firm foundation for future. ) That was my very first prayer to Christ when I was a Buddhist.  God hears my cry. Our Government allowed to change the salary of Myanmar Mission from US $ to Swiss franc.  Jesus is great. God hears our prayers when we call His son Jesus.
What a great taste of Swiss milk!
Before leaving to Switzerland, my dad asked me to feed his grandchildren Swiss milk. He also told me a legend of Switzerland that he heard when he was there as one of Myanmar delegation visiting  Switzerland.
“Once upon a time, Jesus was  traveling around.   When he arrived Switzerland, he was tired.  He asked some water to drink. A Swiss guy gave Him some water and also gave Him some milk. Afterwards,  Jesus took a rest  at his fields.   Jesus satisfied the taste of the milk. Jesus allowed him to ask 3 things for his life as a reward for the milk.  Firstly, the Swiss requested   mountains for plain fields where he breeds cows. When he saw mountains, he thought mountains need snow. Then he requested snow. Nowadays, there are the most beautiful  mountains covered with snow in Switzerland.  Then Jesus told him He had to leave and allowed him to request last one.  Then the Swiss guy asked for a price of a cup of milk. Jesus granted it. Therefore Swiss Bank was appeared as the price of a cup of milk from Jesus.”
Jesus loves us. He hears us because he lives.
Past is a history for human.
Past is full of testimony for the love of God through his son Jesus our savior.
Present is to work for living in human  life.
Present is to obey His will to glorify His Kingdom.
Future is not always assured for human.
Future is hope for the promise of God to fulfill in our lives on earth and beyond the life after dead.  God promises will be fulfilled in our present lives when we believe and obey Him.

(Aims = (1)Give thanks to Jesus who hears my cry for children basic education and for today good jobs . Give thanks to God who hears my thanksgiving praises of my heart on my children’s birthdays.
(2) To share that Jesus hears our prayers, your prayer whatever your religions is.  Because Jesus loves you and He is living.)
